For twenty years at Shearman & Sterling Mr DeKoven was a part of and later led the firm’s practice in corporate insolvency and reorganization. During this time Mr DeKoven had significant roles in many large cross-border insolvency cases ranging from BCCI to Alpargates.

It was as a result of this work that Mr DeKoven met, instructed and worked with many of the leading insolvency silks in London. When in 2002 he applied to become an associate member at South Square, the leading insolvency set in London, the transition was relatively easy. From the time of his joining South Square in 2003, Mr DeKoven has been instructed in leading roles in many important cross border insolvency cases ranging from TXU Europe and Federal-Mogul to Lehman.
